The demand for geospatial data analysts and planners continues to grow across government, NGOs and development projects with over 30 Kenyan counties rapidly adopting GIS by receiving new GIS equipments for food security planning and several other like Kirinyaga, Nakuru, Elgeyo Marakwet and Vihiga have established GIS labs for land management, urban planning, environmental monitoring and disaster-risk assessment. Organisations are also increasingly realizing the need for accurate “what is happening where” insights to guide resource allocation, infrastructure development, land-use decisions and environmental protection. This rising need for spatial data, evidence-based decision-making and digital land governance has created a clear skills gap which now makes technical GIS and remote sensing competencies more essential.

This course is therefore designed to equip you with those practical skills so that you can support counties, institutions and projects that depend on reliable geospatial intelligence.
